Archimedes principle
Introduction :
This model is suitable for disproving Archimedes' Principle. A large Spring Balance is used to make it easier for students to see it from a distance. One eureka container is provided to facilitate teaching. Weights will also be provided.
Topic Dynamic Force and Archimedes' Principle
Archimedes' principle states that when a body is completely or partially submerged in a fluid, it experiences an upward force equal to the weight of the displaced fluid. Therefore, the equation of Archimedes Principle is:
Buoyant force on a body = weight of a liquid whose volume is equal to the body's volume.
Activities: which supplied
1. Fill an Eureka container with water until water flows out of the spout.
2. Weigh an object using a spring balance in the air. reweigh the object when it is completely submerged in water.
3. Collect the water displaced by the object in a beaker. Determine the weight of the beaker with the displaced water.
